How to make and use foot scrub
The skin of the feet is thicker than other parts of the body and is prone to drying, cracking and a lifeless look. It is exposed to the ill effects of nature in the form of exposure to air, sunlight and the sheer weight of your body, which leads to the above damage and thickening of the skin.
1/4 Cup sugar (white or brown), 1/4 cup sweet almond oil, 6 drops orange essential oil, 1 drop ginger essential oil
1 level teaspoon powdered cayenne pepper. In a plastic bowl, mix together the sugar and oil. Add the essential oil and stir.
Add the cayenne pepper last and stir well to mix. To use, sit comfortably in the tub or over a pan of water and/or a large towel to catch the sugar scrub as it is applied. Scoop up a handful of the scrub for each foot and massage vigorously yet with care over heels, ankles, toes, arches and the balls of your feet. Be sure to scrub any rough areas especially well.
1 1/2 Cups sea salt, 1/4 cup sweet almond oil, 2 drops peppermint essential oil 3 drops lavender essential oil. Directions:
Combine the sea salt and almond oil and stir well to mix. If the mixture seems dry and does not hold well together in your hands, add almond oil by the tablespoon until you can scoop it comfortably. Add the essential oils last and stir well. Rub Peppermint Lavender Foot Glow Scrub vigorously all over your feet and ankles. Pay special attention to your heels and the soles of your feet so they are thoroughly exfoliated. Rinse well with warm water and follow with a rich lotion or cream. Sleep in socks so the moisturizer is absorbed well into your skin.
2 Cups White Sugar, 1/4 cup Liquid Soap Base (glycerine can be found at most drugstores) 3/4 cup Sunflower Oil, 1 ml peppermint Essential Oil, 1 ml Spearmint Essential Oil, 1/2 ml Rosemary Essential Oil, 1/2 teaspoon crushed Grape Seeds or Raspberry Seeds. Mix all ingredients together. Pour into jars. And head to the bath.
2 Tablespoons of white sugar, 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil , 15 fresh mint leaves (chopped) , 5 drops of lime essential oil Cut the limes into small pieces and pulse these pieces into a thick pulp in a food processor. Mix this lime and the remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Apply the homemade foot scrub with your hands using circular movements around the foot, ankles and calf. Remove the scrub with a warm, damp towel and then apply a mint moisturizer all over your feet.
Most of these homemade foot scrub recipes can be kept for a few weeks in an air tight jar or zip lock bag.
